I was prompted to write a review of Moving Malcom after reading a rather scathing assessment by another viewer. I don't know if he had ulterior motives about the review that he had written but I would hate to think that people would be steered away from watching this film based on his opinion. Well I'll be right upfront about it and say that my opinion is heavily biased by the fact that I have not seen Benji Ratner for twenty-some years and was pleasantly surprised to see how well he has "turned out".

Axel (Richy Müller) and Karla (Laura Tonke) are an ill-matched couple in a borderline situation. The two meet in the hospital. Axel is keeping watch at his son's bedside and Karla is waiting for some sign of life from her sister. None of the doctors can tell them whether the young couple will come out of their comas after their serious accident. As the weeks of uncertainty, fear and tedium pass by; a peculiar relationship develops between Axel and Karla, sustaining both of them. The questions they put to their unknown counterpart increasingly become the questions they are asking themselves...
