Hathyar is a narrative which probes into the household of Raghunath (Sanjay Dutt), a dreaded gangster. Oliver Stone's first film was this unpleasant but fascinating and clever thriller, which blurs the line between dreams and reality in a way that would later become very popular in the "Nightmare On Elm Street" films. The film is technically unpolished, with a crummy look and often inept editing.
