The film tells the story of a tragi-comic power war on the outskirts of Bogota. The Colombian shantytown of La Estrella is a poor but close-knit community with many quirky and lovable characters. A young painter stumbles upon an assortment of odd characters at an English estate where he has been hired to give art lessons to beautiful Laura Fairlie.
