1970s roller-skate jams fuel this coming-of-age comedy, as X (Bow Wow) and his friends, who rule their local rink, are shocked when their home base goes out of business. Heading over to the Sweetwater Roller Rink, they find their modest talents are, at first, no competition for their trick skaters and pretty girls who follow their every move.

Meg Louglin has been left in charge of her dis-functional family as they travel from Boston to Ireland to scatter their mother's ashes. While her Aunt Annie can't remember where to do the scattering, Meg struggles to keep her brother and sister from killing each other while helping jar Annie's memory, and find a missing poet. Barely holding onto her sanity, Meg meets Daniel. A local horse breeder - too handsome, too sexy, but just the right kind of helpful. Years after a mysterious plague has wiped out most of the adult population, the surviving children have grown up to form violent motorcycle gangs. Young Lee, tired of life on the farm, goes out in search of adventure and soon winds up in the middle of a war between a pair of rival gangs.
