Childhood best friends, Naomi and Gretchen are on a fun road trip before Gretchen moves in with John, who is also Naomi's ex. The girls stop for a beer as night falls in a shady town along the Sacramento Delta where they meet a failed hit man, a bartender who doesn't want to serve them, and two cute small town losers. Naomi and Gretchen get separated and find themselves in their own horror films. Eventually Naomi finds Gretchen and everyone learns the hard way never to get in the middle of a catfight. The girls make up and Gretchen's life plan continues on schedule, but not before her betrayal catches up to her and Naomi finally gets her revenge.

During a wild weekend in Las Vegas, four young friends get into trouble with a loan shark and must skip town in a hurry. But gambling problems may be the least of their worries after they get stranded in the Nevada desert. One of the guys discovers a mysterious metal fragment, then promptly goes missing during the night. When the remaining three catch up with their lost friend, there's something different about him. As his condition worsens, the others realize that something unearthly might be stalking them in the desert.
