The film borrows heavily from Yash Chopra's classic movie Trishul with Amitabh Bachchan. Jackie Shroff, Rajnikanth and Kulbhushan Kharbanda play the respective roles of Amitabh Bachan, Shashi Kapoor and Sanjeev Kumar in Trishul. Subhash Ghai has assisted in filming this.
