Somsri is a teacher in one of Bangkok's slums, teaching the slum kids as best she can in a beat up old building with no budget for equipment or books etc. At the time the film was made (or is set), 1/5th of Bangkok's population was apparently living in slums. Somsri is also the leader of a slum committee, organized primarily to fight the property development company that is trying to evict the people from their homes. Somsri is idealistic, proud and strong-headed and determined to organize the residents and fight the company every step of the way. Unfortunately, many or most of the residents are reluctant to fight, accepting the idea that as slum people they have no rights and can't possibly win against a big corporation. The fight is a difficult one as the company is not afraid to use nasty tactics against the people that stand in the way of their profits.

For a film made by Egyptian/Italian hack director Frank Agramma (who graced the world with the likes of "Queen Kong" and "Dawn of the Mummy")this is is a veritable masterpiece, even though as a violent Italian police thriller it is only a little better than middling. Expatriate American actor Richard Harrison plays a mob hit-man with a troubled past(he witnessed his father being murdered and his mother being fatally raped by mafiosi on the day of his 12th birthday party). He is stationed in Istanbul doing jobs for the unseen "godfather" when he is approached by a treacherous friend who gets him involved in drugs and a mob war, all the while plotting to take over his spot in the mafia hierarchy. Like a lot of these Italian films, and very unlike the Hollywood ones, this movie has a very morally ambiguous tone and decidedly cynical ending.

The year is 2021 and 12 strangers have been chosen for a game that will see only one of them survive over twenty-four hours. The killer game which sees each of them infected with a virus that will only do one thing without the cure......kill. The virus isn't like any other as some of the chosen change to a demon type creature. Captive is a chilling story of 12 strangers (lead by The Pigman Murder's Mark Hutchinson's character Dean) as he tries to guide 11 others through a series of tasks if they are to get a cure for a killer virus that they all seem to be infected with. With the clock counting down from 24 hours they have to make some decisions that will haunt them for the rest of their lives....as the decisions get harder, characters are broken while others stand up and become leaders but only one of them can survive this.
