When a beautiful woman, Crystal Taylor (Jenna Bodnar) meets a photographer, Drake Van Horn (Patrick Williams) whose works exhibit a strangely macabre brand of eroticism, she doesn't realize the danger in which she will place herself. She poses for him, and upon seeing the photo unwittingly makes a Dorian Gray-type pact where she will remain eternally youthful while the the picture exhibits her true age.

Carmen is a Spanish emigrant in Stockholm who does not have the money to run her business or buy a ticket back to Spain. Thanks to a misunderstanding she meets Dr. Petersen who has an invitation to a medical congress in Seville and does not plan to attend. Carmen uses the ticket and impersonates the doctor just enough time to get to the city, but then she will be forced to keep the lie.

Fiancés Georg and Magda and their assistant Erik perform in a vaudeville act combining ventriloquism and hypnotism. Erik, jealously in love with Magda, kills Georg and frames Chris, an errand boy and petty thief, for the crime. Sought by the police, Chris goes into hiding and tries to blackmail Erik, but Erik kills him. Erik also tries to kill Carmen, Chris's sister, when she arrives looking for her brother; but Pablo, a policeman, foils him. Magda eventually frightens Erik into confessing to the murders by tormenting him with Georg's ventriloquist dummy Grog and tape recordings of Grog's laughter.
