Out of work and down on his luck, Reza does whatever he can, including roberry and drug smuggling, to make enough money to gain custody of his son. One night, on the way to deliver some smuggled goods he witnesses an airplane crash. At the scene, he does his best to help the surviving passengers escape, but flees the scene as the police arrive. He tells the amazing story to his friend Ibrahim, who doesn’t believe him. Soon thereafter, Reza is arrested and sent to jail. As journalists try to track down the unknown good samaratin, Ibrahim poses as the hero and takes credit for rescuing the passengers. An adaptation of the 1992 American film Accidental Hero, Shookhy was directed by Homayoun Asadian and stars Parviz Parastui and Fatema Motamedarya, who were both nominated for best actor awards.
