A girl with insomnia who works in a coffee house (Ione Skye) has impossibly high standards for her love and fears she will never meet a worthy man. Then in walks a new employee (Mackenzie Astin) and they click - until she discovers he has a girlfriend. Undaunted, she moves to L.A. with a friend (Jennifer Aniston) sure that he will dump the girlfriend and follow her. She puts all her faith in fate and hopes for the best.

A group of serial killers confined in a mental asylum prepares for the Halloween party, at the same time as a new inmate (Heloisa) arrives irritating the most terrible serial killer, Claudia, who is in love with his cellmate, Lucas. The fate ends up linking Lucas and Heloisa and the two ends up having a quick romance, that will leave Claudia upset. Claudia doesn't give up and convinces the Japanese macumbeira of the place (Tomoto) to take action, to invoke the demons, and end Heloisa's life. When everything seemed to have worked out just as Claudia wanted to, it all ends up being a huge mistake and zombies appear from the tombs searching for blood, flesh and party.
