Texan lawyer Milton Porter welcomes Jessica at the airport. She has come to testify on behalf of his client, Harold Endicott, who is accused of plagiarism. Ranger Alan Hepditch (Fred Ewanuick) is an Ichabod Crane-like misfit who is the laughing stock of the Newfoundland rangers.
