A New Day in Old Sana'a is a 2005 romantic drama film directed by Bader Ben Hirsi, a British playwright and director of Yemeni ancestry, and produced by Ahmed Abdali. It was shot in San‘(🏇)a’, the capital of Yemen, and was the first Yemeni film to be shown at the Cannes Film Festival. The running time of the film was 86 minutes, and versions were released in English language and Arabic (with English subtitles).

How About You tells the story of Ellie (Hayley Atwell), a footloose and fearless young woman who is left in charge of a residential home owned and run by her older sister Kate (Orla Brady), over the Christmas period. Her youth and inexperience bring her into bitter conflict with the four grumpy old residents known as the 'hardcore': retired screen beauty Georgia (Vanessa Redgrave), spinster sisters Hazel (Imelda Staunton) and Heather (Brenda Fricker), and a reformed alcoholic judge, Donald (Joss Ackland). The film deals with the at times hilarious antics of these uncivilized seniors, the gradual solidarity that develops between the residents and Ellie and an unlikely romance.

Released in 1990, this Swedish film production is probably a nearly forgotten piece of coming-of-age art. The story is simple enough, and is about a ten-year-old boy living with only his father in a house in the countryside in the southern part of Sweden. The boy's father is a mechanic and also runs the local gas station. The boy is however more interested in nature and wild animals than in technical stuff, which makes a gap in their relationship. One evening when he is wandering alone in the forest, he finds a wounded bird. He then decides to rescue the bird and together with his best friend they build a temporary cage for the bird in a hidden place in the forest. They promise not to tell anyone of this place. The rest of the film deals with the boy's rescue mission of the bird and his relationship with his father.
