Eleven-year-old Tibor has only one friend: his house robot, T.I.M. When his father replaces the out-of-date robot, Tibor saves it from destruction. He sets out in search of the only one who can repair T.I.M.: the mythic robot maker Hector Sammler. During the adventurous quest through an unknown world however, T.I.M. slowly falls apart. It remains to be seen if they will ever find Hector, provided he exists in the first place.

Chandni (Urmila Matondkar), a lower class talented night club singer and dancer, who happens to be religious, and well mannered, lives an unfortunate life with her three aunts, who dominate her life, and with a weak maternal grandmother. She dances for a living because it is the only way she can support her poor family and she hopes to give her nieces an education.

Glamour model Diane Shepherd is routinely being beaten by her husband Tim, who accuses her of infidelity. When she can't take it anymore, she finds shelter with photographer Mark and his girlfriend Carrie. They introduce Diana to Millie, who is in a similar situation. Meanwhile, Tim informs Diane that if she doesn't come back to him, he will see to it that he gains custody of their son, Timmy.

Based on the true custody battle in Richmond, Virginia, a grandmother sues her lesbian daughter for custody of her grandson on the grounds her daughter is immoral for living with another woman in a gay relationship.

Quite upset by the actions of the violent serial murderer are both the department's coroner, Kyoko, and Natsumi, the second victim's pimp. Natsumi demands retribution; Kyoko just wants to get away from this nightmare. Later that night, at home, Kyoko sleeps, unaware that she is being stalked by the murderer. The killer breaks into her home using a glass cutter, and proceeds to bind her and rip off her clothing before attempting to rape her. Luckily, Natsumi, having wanted to talk with Kyoko privately, shows up at just this moment, scaring the intruder away. When Kyoko receives a package in the mail a few days later that is full of pictures of her being assaulted, she decides that she must take the law into her own hands. She reasons that Natsumi, though unaware, must have seen the killer as he fled from Kyoko's apartment. Enlisting her help to identify the perpetrator, Kyoko dresses sexily and makes herself bait (a "beautiful target," if you will) for the psychopath. Dressed to seduce, she begins trolling seedy underground S&M nightclubs on a quest for the killer...
